Audio Files
These files are all in MP3 format and you'll need a browser plugin to play them, or right click, save as and play them with another program from your computer. Also, please note these recordings although now in a modern digital format, are copied from very old sources and of poor quality, due to the limitations of technology at the time of recording. They didn't have camera video cell phones and compact discs in those days!
In fact, one of the first recordings of the high school band was made by a record machine that cut a vinyl disc to make the recording.

WPAR
WPAR is a radio station in Parkersburg, WV and these tracks are from the high school band and chorus recorded during a live radio show in 1950. This program has the distinction to be one of the first "stereo" broadcasts, where you had to have 2 radios in different corners of the room, tuned slightly off to get the stereo effect. The recordings are very scratchy. Be sure to see the label image on the Memories home page.

Music Department
This is a compilation of band and chorus tunes. It does contain the school song. Dr. Karl. V. Brown, who was the band director for many years, is the catalyst behind the music program. You can hear him singing on one songs. His daughter is playing violin and she was a great musician.
